Abstract

Have you ever wondered how a guitar works? Guitars are amazing, versatile instruments that can produce a variety of sounds and tones. In my presentation I explain how a guitar makes sounds in terms of physics! I explain how the tension on each string corresponds to the frequency of the sound that each string makes. These frequencies are called harmonics. The vibrations that occur when you strum a string resonate through the wood of the body of the guitar and different woods have tonal differences.
